After a ten-year hiatus, Gospel great and six-time GRAMMY Award winner BeBe Winans is back with a new, 11-track album entitled Need You. It is his ninth solo album.

This project offers a complete musical feast, with an amazing blend of standards, a side of contemporary Gospel styles and a dash of R&B added to the mix.

No BeBe Winans album would be complete without featuring one of his family members. Here, his baby sister, Debbie Winans Lowe, makes an appearance on “It’s All Good,” showcasing yet another musical Winans voice to the world.

“Born for This” is a beautiful ballad that asks a proverbial question: are you ready to live the life God planned for you?

“He Promised Me” features the amazing harmonies of Tobi and Tommie. The song has topped the Gospel airplay charts, delivering the first #1 single in Winans’ solo career. Bebe puts his “special sauce” on Luther Vandross’s rendition of “Power of Love,” while “Free Free” will stay on repeat and has the potential to deliver another #1 hit for Winans.

We know that Proverbs 17:22 tells us that laughter is good like a medicine, and the song “Laughter” provides a stirring reminder of this. Bebe had to go to Seoul, South Korea to record this song with the incredible ensemble Korean Soul, after producer Donald Lawrence sent him an Instagram video of the group.

“In Jesus Name” reminds us that all things are possible when we call on His matchless name and “Getting Ready to Blow” is a gentle reminder that we need to get our affairs in order before the trumpet sounds.

The title track, “Need You,” is a beautiful love song of thanksgiving to our heavenly father.

These are my favorite moments on the album. In true Bebe Winans style, Need You is an impressive body of work that offers something for everyone’s musical taste.
